Notification on application and extension of work permit for foreigner in 2024

NOTIFICATION

ON

APPLICATION AND EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE FOR THE RENEWAL OF FOREIGN WORK PERMITS FOR THE YEAR 2024

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (“MOL”) would like to inform all owners or directors of enterprises who employing foreign labor and foreigners who are doing business in the Kingdom of Cambodia that pursuant to the Law of Labor of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Prakas no. 195 dated 20 August 2014 on employment card and foreign work permits, the MOL would like to inform that the application of employment card and foreign work permits for year 2024 shall be implemented as follows:

1.       For foreigners who already have employment card and work permit shall apply for renewal before 31 March 2024.

2.      For foreigners who have recently been employed or conducting business in Cambodia must file an application in line with the Law on Labor and regulations in force.

The application and renewal of employment card and foreign work permits shall be made through www.fwcms.mlvt.gov.kh . For failure to renew employment card and foreign work permits before the above due date, the MOL will take penalty action in accordance with Chapter 16 of the Law of Labor, Inter-ministries Prakas no. 489 MEF dated 31 July 2023 on the penalty on individual who violates the regulations of the Law of Labor and effective regulations.

The MOL strongly hopes that owners or directors of enterprises will implement this notification effectively.
